Damara and I met in a dream, and we quickly became friends. We talked in person a few times, and quickly became friends. She was perfect. When she asked me to help her cub with his problems, I took the challenge in open arms. As my time with Farren grew longer, my relationship with Damara grew closer. Eventually, we both started to feel like... more than friends.

We met in a dream.
I was wandering through the forest, being sure to stay out of sight. I kept seeing Da and Pa through the trees, and turning to move away from them, I'd see them again. This went on for a long time, the fog pressing in and the darkness of starshift pulling closer. I kept seeing shapes in the darkness, but I knew my mane was growing, and I could see it, now. I had to burn it.
I set it on fire, the light brighter than it should have been. I was about to stop, when I noticed that instead of shortening, my mane was lengthening. I yelled as my fire grew brighter, trying to burn it away so that I would be normal again. I didn't know what to do, so I panicked and started crying.
As bright as my mane grew, my surroundings grew darker, until all I could see were the shapes of lions moving between odd shapes.
Suddenly, I picked out a golden lioness among the darkness. She stood, watching me with a concerned expression. As I looked at her, my fire softened and my vision grew clearer. Lions still moved between the trees, but I didn't recognize them.
The golden lioness moved cautiously forward through the darkness, watching my mane dim and my tears fall.
She introduced herself as Damara, and asked my name. "Aithea," I replied.
She continued to ask me small questions until the forest faded entirely and my mane had gone out. What I liked, where I was from, that sort of thing. She was nice, even coming and sitting by me to comfort me. We continued to talk long into the night, and I began to find her a companion.
Over a few months, Damara entered my dreams from time to time to check on me. I began to understand that she was real, and not a figment of my imagination when she talked about her son, Farren. She was concerned that he may be a little too stuck in his own head, and she wondered if I could help. She knew I had been similar as a child, enclosed and sealed off, but I had grown to love my mane.
After a few more talks, she decided to meet me in person. I was Overjoyed when she climbed the hill to our meeting place - but still had to pinch myself to be sure I wasn't dreaming.
I greeted her as a friend, and we talked for awhile. Damara was happy to see me in person, and I loved our encounters.

After another two or three meetings, we were ready to meet Farren. Farren was really shy at first, but after a few exposures he started to talk to me. I told him about my mane and how I loved it now, and he opened up a little to me as well. He and Damara quickly became my favorite lions on Lochren. We started having social visits, and I started to feel.. a little more.
As my crush developed, I found it hard to keep it from her. Eventually, she told me she had developed a crush on me as well, and I confessed my feelings. Soon, we were dating, and even farther, we were mates. I saw Farren as my son at this point as well, and even came with him to his growth ceremony. I was the first to pet his soft, fluffy mane.

We define our own future
After we moved in together and Ara had met my parents, we planned for cubs. We talked through it for a long time until we decided we were ready. Soon, Damara realized she was pregnant. We were overjoyed, and constantly talked over names and speculated genders of the cubs.
Although Ara was still pregnant, I decided to go with my da to the place he was from. While there, a some point, Ara had cubs - And I came home to a lump of screaming children and my tired, but happy wife. She introduced me to our three boys - Alin, Shamz, and Rêve!

Poor Damara was terrified, as she had lost connection with us in the Oasis. I comforted her and learned about my new cubs as best I could.
